Jamal Riaz is an extremely versatile performer with a special faculty for comedy and a profound ability to delve into emotionally rich and dramatic roles. Fundamentally believing that both seriousness and comedy operate in tandem to create beautifully rich performances.
Notable performances include acting alongside Omid Djalili, for the pilot of his new TV show, directed by Matt Lipsey. He also took the lead in the short film Adventures where he played the slightly obnoxious, entitled ad agency manager.
Jamal’s training stems from a self-directed and proactive approach. He has enriched his craft by attending courses at ACT Brighton, Savage Heart Theatre, RADA, as well as stand-up comedy and improv workshops. Jamal is continually challenging himself as a performer. He has performed stand-up comedy and even went as far as hosting his own comedy night. Furthermore, to deepen his breadth of knowledge on understanding others and human connections, he conducted street interviews, gaining experience as a journalist. Jamal’s methods of learning are what he believes keep him unique.
